Discovery and Practice
At MSS children eagerly discover and practice in orderly, clean, safe, and creatively designed classrooms under the leadership of certified Montessori teachers. Children gain a love for learning when they are allowed time to discover and practice in this way. They become lifelong learners when they are taught with respect, allowed to question and collaborate with others.
Curiosity and Exploration
The Montessori method focuses on children's intrinsic desire to learn by practicing, moving, and discovering. The innate curiosity and need to explore is the force behind children's early development, confidence, and desire for independence which fosters a natural inclination to learn and succeed. The activities (often referred to as the "children's work") encourage independence, coordination, concentration, and order, which help develop focus, attention and increase their desire to learn.
